Cidra

Cidra Cayey was a neighborhood until 1809, during which residents made their town as the foundation. It is unclear who was the person who donated the land, but there is evidence that he was a former owner of the locality, without any compensation, who gave them the land.

At City Hall there are no official documents on the matter because they Cidrawere destroyed by Hurricane San Ciriaco.  However it is believed that it was the Lady who donated Viviana Vazquez. It is 36.3 square miles and is located in the mountains east of the humid island.  It has a population of 48.761 inhabitants.

The word cider is not of West Indian roots. Its origin is Latin and derives from the word “citrus”, which is called the fruit lemon, apple cider is a variety.

There is no data to explain the origin of this name for the people. It is thought that its name comes from the citron tree planted in the village where it is today. The town of Cidra is known as the People of The Eternal Spring for its cooler temperatures and hydrography.   It is also known as the Town of Sabanera Pigeon (Columba inornata wetmorei), the only dove in the island has blue eyes and nests in the area of Cidra.
